Task 10: Survey Report

0

Introduction
On 3 August 2015, I myself prepared a questionnaire and posted it to my blog. The questionnaire was spread to adulteries, students, and children, requesting for their assistance in completing the form. The purpose of this questionnaire was to know how Indonesian people use the internet.

Overview
Although I have spread the questionnaire to all representative respondents, the only respondents I got are students with the age of 16 to 20 year old. However, it provides quite interesting result. Naturally, responses in this questionnaire are anonymous.

Result
The first data I got is who filled the questionnaire, they are 24 students, with the age between 16 to 20 year old, consists both male and female. Most of them often use the internet 3 to 4 hours in a day. They access the internet by using their own internet connection. Most of them also; around 62% of them; spend Rp50.000,- to Rp100.000,- in a month for the internet.

According to the data, Google Chrome is the most favorite browser. 79% (19 respondents) said that they use Google Chrome. However, there are still a few respondents who use Mozilla Firefox. Well, in my opinion, Indonesian students are not familiar with ask.com, yahoo.co.id and msn.com. They still use Google as their search engine.

Most of the respondents use the internet to access social medias and only to browsing. Although Facebook is an old social media, but it is still the most outstanding social media. It can be proven by the number of respondents using Facebook, 66% (16 respondents) say that they still use Facebook. In addition, some respondents use Twitter, Path and Blog. There are also some repondents who do not use any social media.

It interesting to see the respondents’ opinions about the internet. 20 respondents say that internet serve the easier way to get information. They also agree with the government’s plicy to block porn sites. In their opinion, internet eases their social lives contact. In the open questions of cyber crime, most of them say that cyber crime, including piracy is a criminal thing. Then the open question whether internet gives positive or negative effects, they say that the positive and negative depend on how we use it.

Conclusion

It can be clearly seen that internet is an important thing, proven by the number of respondents who use social media. Most of them buy their own internet connection with the range of Rp50.000,- to Rp100.000,-  for each month. Indonesian people has had good habit in using the internet. It can be proven by the number who reject pornography and piracy.

Task 7 : Letter of Opinion

0

there's much more for us to seea brand new day for you and meand with confidence i say, " we're better than ever." and i don't know where this will lead but in my life you need to be 'cause i need to say, "hello again"
Enough with that song. haha. By the way, that is my favorite song from Hoobastank. Just like that song, I wanna say "Hello again!" In this part, I will make a letter of opinion from a news. This is the news,
A Syrian journalist who was shot in the Turkish city of Gaziantep in an attack claimed by the Islamic State group died from his wounds Tuesday, a close friend said.
The death of Halab Today TV presenter Mohammed Zahir al-Sherqat marks the fourth assassination of a Syrian journalist in Turkey claimed by the extremist group.
Sherqat, who was shot in the neck from close range on Sunday while walking on a street, died in a hospital in Gaziantep near the Syrian border, according to his friend Barry Abdulattif, a Syrian activist.
Friends told the AP that the journalist had received death threats as recently as two months ago from IS extremists.
IS claimed the attack on Monday via the IS-affiliated Aamaq news agency, which said Sherqat "used to present anti-Islamic State programs."
The journalist came to Turkey in 2015 after surviving an assassination attempt in Syria and started to work with Halab Today. His programs took a stance against extremist groups.
Sherqat, a native of the Syrian town of Al-Bab, was an imam who studied Islamic Law at Damascus University, Abdulattif said. When the Syrian revolution started in 2011, he was a founding member of the local coordinating committee of Al-Bab and a field organizer of demonstrations against the Syrian regime. He later formed the Abu Bakr Al-Sadiq Brigade which fought under the banner of the opposition Free Syrian Army.
When extremist groups Al-Nusra and IS appeared in Al-Bab, Sherqat opposed them, according to Abdulattif, who is also a native of the town.
The killing of Sherqat follows the assassinations last year of two Syrian journalists who were found with their throats slit in the southeastern city of Sanliurfa and a third journalist who was shot dead in the street in Gaziantep. The attacks have prompted media advocacy group Reporters Without Borders to urge Turkish authorities to protect exiled Syrian journalists in the country.
"The situation is very bad, we don't feel safe," Abulattif said. "We know there are a lot of sleeper (IS) cells in Turkey and elsewhere but it is not easy to catch them."
Another friend and activist from Al-Bab living in Gaziantep, Marwan Shawy, shared that concern. He said Turkey's latest policies toward Syrians — including restrictions on their movements between cities and tightened border controls — are doing little to improve safety.
"Whatever they are doing so far is not working," Shawy said. "The last two (IS-related) incidents were shots in broad daylight and no one was caught."
Many Syrian activists based in Gaziantep or other cities near the border report receiving threats from IS, yet most do not have a financially viable or legal way out of Turkey. Complicating matters, a controversial deal between Europe and Turkey, home to 2.7 million Syrians, recently came into effect with the aim of curbing the flow of migrants to Europe.
Turkish authorities haven't commented on the murder of Sherqat. (bbn)

Then, Here is my letter of opinion :
Sir/Madam,
I was so disgusted to hear a killing of one of the journalists, Zahir Al-Sherqat in Turkey by an IS activist. I just think “What was he thinking about? Why did he kill such an innocent person?” I do not understand their thoughts. With an alibi that Mr Sherqat was an anti-Islamic states activist, they killed him.
In this case, I can say that Mr Sherqat did not do anything wrong, but the IS did. Why did they do an assasination in Syria? Did Syria do something wrong? I do not think so. By doing that killing, the IS should be international criminals. I always hope that the IS can be destroyed. They sasid that they are Islam, but they always kill innocent people in many countries. Can they be said Islam?
I wish that the international army alliance could catch and destroy them.

Aweyeah! Weekly task again! You meet me again, buddy. In this task my lecturer told me to respond a complaint letter.

Let's get down to the business.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to complain about the plan of chopping all the trees in my neighborhood that announced recently.
In my opinion, the plan of chopping down the trees will affect both the geographical and atmospheric nature of the city.  Trees play a vital part in taking in the pollution of the atmosphere and convert it into oxygen as well as trees keep the soil on the ground intact. Due to the absence of trees in many localities the atmosphere contains dust particles which cause breathing problems, lung diseases and allergies such as bronchitis etc.
Besides, the trees here make us feel comfort because they reduce the heat of the sun to touch our neighborhood. We as a good citizen always clean the leaves, branches in our street on our street.
I on behalf of Merdikorejo neighborhood say “No” to the plan of chopping down all the trees. We have another thing in our mind. It is better to chop the old trees that almost fall down and replace them with the new one. Moreover, together we could plant more trees and make the city's atmosphere clean and healthy.
I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Yours Sincerely,
Peter E.S.

Dear Mr Sanjaya,

I have received the letter you sent to me. I am writing in order to respond it. Firstly, I am that that I can not cancel the council’s plan to chop down the trees. It has been the council’s decision, and been signed by the president.

Secondly, our plan is not a plan without considering the environment. In or opinion, there are still many trees around your resident, they are on the south and east areas. So, if we chop down the one near your resident, it will not affect that much.

Finally, we are planning to build a children’s play ground on the place where the trees re going to be chopped down. That is because, we think that your resident has many kids. However, they do not have much place to play. It also prevents the kids from being introvert.

I think that is all from me. If you have any problems, you may contact us again, and we will try our best to help you. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours sincerely,
Ahned

Well, that's all for this week. Don't forget to give your evaluation down there.

See you, and may the force be with you. Hahaha. Just kidding, may the God be with you. ;)

Hi, guys! Meet me again in the weekly task. This week is about a complaint letter. The situation is that the council where you live is going to build a new supermarket near my residence. Later on, you disagree with the plan for several reasons. Then, I write a complaint letter.

OK! Let's check it out.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in order to complaint about your plan to build a new supermarket near my residence.
Respectfully, I do not agree with that plan for several reasons. Firstly, it the residence where I live is a crowded residence. Then, if you build a new supermarket, I think that it will be much more crowded.
Secondly, by building that supermarket, it means that you have to chop down the trees around there. It may cause the temperature increases.
Finally, my residence has a narrow street. If you build that supermarket, then there will be more vehicles passing the street. It may cause a big traffic jam.
I am looking forward to hearing from you at your latest convenience.

Yours sincerely,
Charles
